[00:00:00] In a very basic, square one level is find out about the individuals. Don't overlook Googling someone's name.
[00:00:08] Just don't overlook that because a person's passion and their love for an organization's mission leaves breadcrumbs. So a donor leaves breadcrumbs of things that they're passionate about. If I'm not passionate about animals and animal welfare, then you're not going to ever see me give to an animal welfare type organization.
[00:00:33] So you're looking for breadcrumbs. Don't overlook looking on Google. Just Googling. Go to social media and look for common friends.
[00:00:42] I think every nonprofit leader needs to be on LinkedIn. If you're trying to raise significant money, you need to be on LinkedIn.
[00:00:48] That's where the professionals are. And those are where a lot of board members are. They should be because they're, wanting to network. It's social media, but it's a more professional way.
[00:00:58] We can go deeper into looking at who gives to political campaigns, but let's start with simple things.
[00:01:04] The other thing is ask board members. And you can give 'em a list to start and "do you see anyone on here, that, you know, or you think has the capacity, would be interested… and just ask that question. I would go to your board members.
[00:01:17] That's what your board is there for. That's why you do planning.
